On behalf of the Legal Department, Texas Justice Court Training Center, and JPCA, I
hope you find this book a very valuable resource guide as you adjust to the changes
implemented by the 82nd Legislature. There are three different ways for you to utilize
this guide. The first is to review an individual code to see all the things that have
changed in that specific code. The second is to look at the beginning of each code,
which contains an index showing all the sections that changed, and which bill modified
them. Finally, in the back, we have included a chart, organized by bill number,
showing all relevant sections that were modified. So, you can search by bill number,
section, or code, to find the information you need.

These rules are promulgated to provide a uniform system for the fair, impartial and prompt disposition of matters properly before the Justice Court of your county. They are to interpreted consistent with this objective
