    Monday, May 17th

    Program is located at Texas State University Freeman Ranch

    • Program beings at 9:00 a.m.
    • Morning courses:
      • Role of the Forensic Anthropologist in Medicolegal Death Investigations
      • Skeletal Trauma in Cause and Manner of Death
    • Lunch at 12:00 p.m.
    • Afternoon courses:
      •  Show and Tell: Examples of Skeletal Ballistic, Blunt, & Share Force Trauma
      • Taphonomic Considerations in the Interpretation of Cause and Manner of Death

    Tuesday, May 18th

    Program is located at Texas State University Freeman Ranch
    1921 Old RR 12 and 2101 Freeman RR

    • Program beings at 9:00 a.m.
    • Morning courses:
      • Process of Human Decomposition and the Estimation of Postmortem
      • Field Activity: View Human Remains in Various Stages of Decomposition
    • Program ends at 12:00 p.m.
  • You will stay at the Embassy Suites, but the program is located at Texas State's Freeman Ranch. This is a 15-minute drive. See directions below.

    Check-in time is 4:00 p.m.

  • There will be no meals provided on Sunday, May 16th.

    May 17th 

    Enjoy the free breakfast buffet at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Just remember, you need to be at the Freeman Ranch by 9:00. It is a 15-minute drive. 

    Texas State will provide lunch at Freeman Ranch. 

    May 18th 

    Enjoy the free breakfast buffet at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Just remember, you need to be at the Freeman Ranch by 9:00. It is a 15-minute drive. 

  • The last course at Freeman Ranch will require touring the ranch. Be prepared for the weather - it may be hot or a little rainy. Also, it can be muddy. 

    If you have accessibility needs or just don't feel like walking, you can skip this part. 

    Participants may be exposed to decomposing bodies as a part of the last course. Sights and smells may be unpleasant. 

  • COVID-19 INFORMATION

    Masks will be required in the meeting rooms and registration areas for the entire event. If you have a medical issue that makes it difficult to not wear a mask for long periods of time, please sign up for our virtual events.  Meals may be different than normal including boxed and takeout meals.
